Before the coronavirus pandemic, PATH Yorkshire delivered Beginners English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes in over 20 community venues across Leeds. Talk English is a community-based learning for Leeds residents, aged 19 years and over. It is available to settled and newly arrived migrants, refugees and asylum seekers. Classes were taught by ESOL Tutors trained and supported by PATH Yorkshire. In March 2020, prior to the pandemic crisis, we had a total of 388 learners for that academic year.

Talk English combines in-person classroom learning with activities, educational trips and cultural events. Its objectives are to make English learning available to community members who could not access college courses, reduce isolation, and promote wider community integration.

An Integrated Communities English Language Programme of Manchester Council Adult Education and funded by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG).
