IT Service Desk Advisor

We are looking to appoint a full-time IT Service Desk Advisor to join our thriving IT Services department at an exciting time in the development and expansion of IT provision at the University. 

Postholders will work within a growing team to provide a customer-focused Service Desk for users of our IT facilities both in Leeds and based at our UK franchise partners.  This will include providing initial support to users requiring assistance with the University’s IT systems and software, Office 365, Teams and authentication services.  

Applicants should have relevant experience of providing support on an IT Service Desk.  Excellent interpersonal, communication and IT skills, a broad understanding of IT systems in an enterprise or educational environment and the ability to guide others in the use of a range of IT applications, including Office 365 are all essential requirements of this position.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced administrator to join our Records and Assessment Team. You will be responsible for providing a range of administrative support services to a busy team supporting activities from registration through to graduation. 

The successful candidate will have proven administrative skills and experience and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You will be able to demonstrate initiative and flexibility individually, and work as part of a team. You will also be able to demonstrate good IT skills along with the ability to manage your time. 

This role will be located at Leeds Trinity University campus in Horsforth, Leeds. Through our agile working framework, there may also be the option to spend some time working remotely to support work life balance, which will be discussed further with candidates at interview.

Business Intelligence Manager

Hours of Work:            Full-time (1.0fte)

Contract type:             Permanent

Salary:                         The starting salary will be from £42,149 up to £50,296 per annum in Grade 8, depending on qualifications and experience 

We are looking to recruit an experienced professional to take a lead role in the development of insightful business intelligence.  The successful candidate will lead a small team in scoping, developing and disseminating high quality business intelligence and analysis products to stakeholders across the University.  The Business Intelligence team is part of the Planning and Information department which has central responsibility for the provision of student data reporting to both external stakeholders (such as regulatory bodies) and internal stakeholders.  Areas of scope for the team include developing analysis and intelligence across all aspects of the student life cycle to drive a data led decision making approach.  The team provide dashboards, analysis reports and adhoc information to support colleagues across the University. 

The post includes establishing and agreeing business intelligence requirements, development of accurate and insightful products and liaising with stakeholders at all levels to ensure understanding and optimal use of reporting and analysis.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the line management of staff in the Business Intelligence team and ensuring a continuous improvement approach is deployed to enhance the contribution of the team.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about the use of intelligence to inform decision making and able to be innovative to bring new insight to understand the performance of the University.  Being able to establish excellent stakeholder relations is highly important. 

Whilst relevant experience in a Higher Education setting is advantageous, applications are encouraged from candidates from other sectors who have appropriate skills and experience.

Student Achievement Manager (Academic Skills Teaching)

Hours of Work:            Full-time, 35 hours per week 

Contract type:             Permanent 

Salary:                         The starting salary will be from £42,149 up to £46,042 per annum in Grade 8a, depending on qualifications and experience 

We are looking to recruit an experienced professional to take a lead role in the organisation and delivery of academic skills teaching to students. This new role will also involve managing an academic skills teaching team. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Student Engagement and Communications and be responsible for leading the delivery of the programme-wide Foundation Year module: Academic Skills and Studying with Confidence, as well as coordinating a programme of embedded academic skills workshops across other UG and PG levels. 

The post will include line management, module coordination, module development and resource creation. The postholder will also teach at least on Foundation Year cohort of students as well as lead on academic skills workshops, subject to managerial caseload.  The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication and administrative skills.  They will be used to working with a variety of issues and have a strong appreciation of student culture. Experience working with Foundation Year/Level 3 students and an understanding of their needs is essential.   

The successful candidates will be enthusiastic, innovative and versatile in their approach, demonstrating experience in supporting students from widening participation backgrounds, excellent communication skills and the ability to establish strong working relationships with students and staff.

Senior Audio-Visual Technician

Salary:                         The starting salary will be from £27,924 up to £33,309 per annum in Grade 6, depending on qualifications and experience.

Media Services at Leeds Trinity University is a vibrant, multi-skilled, department, focusing on delivering high quality teaching and learning facilities, underpinned by excellent technical support, for all our students and staff. The University is embarking on a substantial period of change to both its physical estate and degree portfolio. We are looking for an experienced and motivated person to help deliver the Audio–Visual facilities to support the University’s Vision.  

Reporting to the Media Services Manager you will help design, deliver, manage and maintain facilities within your specialist area. The role requires extensive engagement and collaboration with the key stakeholders from Media Services, IT, Estates, Student Services, the Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching and Faculty Staff. 

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of how lecture room technology can be used to help support a wide range of inclusive and flexible learning environments. Through appropriate design input you will help deliver facilities that can meet pedagogical learning needs in areas such as group collaboration rooms, Hybrid online/onsite learning and Microsoft Teams environments. 

You will be an excellent communicator with an eye for operational and design detail. This will be backed up by an extensive practical knowledge of current Audio-Visual equipment and control software, with an understanding of how these items would integrate with secure corporate networks. 

You will be capable of prioritising and balancing project and maintenance workloads while liaising with other technical colleagues, timetabling and external Integrators to ensure excellent customer service in support of time critical day-to-day teaching and conference activities.

PATH Volunteering Opportunities

Learning Support Assistants (Volunteer ESOL Teaching Assistants) 

We are looking for 6 Learning Support Assistants to join our English/ESOL team. This is a volunteering opportunity to gain work experience, helping the community, make new friends, and references for your job applications.

Learning Support Assistants provide help and support to adult ESOL learners during their English classes at PATH and Reginald Centre.  Classes are weekly on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 am to 12:30 pm. Some classes end at 2:30 pm.

You can choose to volunteer for half day, one day a week. 

This is an excellent opportunity for you to gain work expeience in the UK and references for your next job applications.
