Paid Work Placements for Disadvantaged Adults

Objectives
Working to increase the third sector capacity, we work with registered charities in Leeds to develop work placements aimed at developing work skills and confidence that will enable participants aged 25 years and over – to improve their work skills and move into sustainable employment. Work placements were for long-term unemployed Leeds residents. These were paid work placements with the National Living Wage rates, with trainee salaries paid by the project funds.

Achievements
81 gained new skills and employment, with 73% sustained employment for more than 6 months. 75 registered third sector/charity organisations operating in Leeds gained additional staff without cost to them.
