PATH Internships

1985 – 2030

Funder

Objectives

We developed work placement positions in collaboration with employers. We promote the work placement opportunities to underrepresented communities, marginalised groups, and individuals disadvantaged with socio-economic circumstances, health conditions, and disabilities. Applications are treated fairly and appointments are decided by the employers/organisations hosting the interns/trainees. Interns gain real work experience, training qualification relevant to their role, and ongoing support from the PATH Yorkshire Employment Team. Interns are paid the National Living Wage rates.

Target

Trainees (1985 - June 2025)

Achievements

An ongoing PATH Yorkshire programme is the PATH Internships (formerly branded as ‘PATH Traineeships’) with an average of 25 paid work placements with established employers in the public, civil service, and private sectors. A total of 1,200 trainees have been in supported work placements to date, with 95% of trainees/interns completing the programme and gaining employment with their host organisations. For this programme, we collaborated with a total of 800 employers across the Yorkshire regions, including schools, universities, housing associations, local authorities, NHS hospitals, legal and finance companies, and corporations.
