One-Day Training for ESOL Teachers and Befrienders in Leeds

Park Plaza Hotel, Boar Lane, Leeds LS1 5NS

(Hotel is near the Train Station in Leeds City Centre)

Volunteer Talk English Teachers will be trained to teach Beginners English (ESOL – English for Speakers of Other Languages) to adult community learners to improve their language skills and confidence. PATH Yorkshire has a library of teaching and learning resources for adult learners and currently run ESOL classes in several community centres across Leeds.

Volunteer Talk English Friends provide support to adult migrants including refugees and asylum seekers learning English, helping them to access services and get more involved in the wider community.

It is also an opportunity to improve on community outreach and people engagement skills, a good addition to your CV, a chance to be in a flexible volunteering experience, get good references for your next job applications.

Travel expenses will be paid at end of training day for bus travel. Lunch will not be provided at the venue, instead £5 will be given to each trainee for lunch allowance.
